Being at the center of SE Asia, Malaysia is a blend of its surrounding countries. Modern skyscrapers and mega-malls intermingle with crumbling colonial architecture in Kuala Lumpur, with a well established Chinatown and Little India adding further flavour to the region. While the Petronas Twin Towers lost the title of the tallest building in the world in 2004, they remain one of the most architecturally interesting modern skyscrapers around, taking on a whole new life with their night-time lighting.
